"Footprints on the Moon" is part of a new compilation put together by Bright Eyes fans — including some members of the band — to benefit the Poison Oak Project, a charity dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth with a particular focus on trans rights. The compilation is completely free, and we'd love for you to listen and donate if you're able.
If you've caught us live in the last few years, there's a good chance you've already heard this one — it's been a staple of our sets. We recorded this version as a live demo in my living room during band practice, and it's a pretty honest peek at what our upcoming album is shaping up to sound like.
It has been such a joy playing together this past year with Sam, Cecily, and Sarah. We hope you enjoy the song and feel moved to support this wonderful cause.
