OrangeG is an experimental folk act based in Pittsburgh PA. Described as #WonkyCountry by the illustrious Moby Tanner, their songs are often introspective focusing on social and mental challenges of living on this planet with all of its imperfections. The band performs in several configurations, from a full band to shows as a duo or solo. Live sets include atmospheric sound collages that place songs into specific moments and moods. The heart of OrangeG's music is the lyrics, which are delivered with emotional clarity.
Frontman (Mark) had begun writing and performing at open mics in the Pittsburgh area before all of our worlds changed in 2020. During the pandemic, he was encouraged to release his music into world. In just a short, life-changing blink of an eye, his love of performance blossomed. Under the OrangeG moniker, he built a substantial internet following. In addition to releasing his own self-produced tracks, Mark has collaborated as OrangeG with artists across the globe (US, Germany, Australia, Netherlands, UK, France, Canada). OrangeG's debut album ("The Void Bereft") was released in October 2022, and a split EP ("I'll Take The River") with The Roundlakes (John Michie and Chris James Willows - both artists in the UK) came out in September 2022.
Since 2025 OrangeG has been playing in the PIttsburgh local region and on limited tour dates as a four piece act. Their new album, "The Thread" is currently in production with an expected release in late 2026/early 2027.
